P-1A VISA for athletes: requirements
The P-1A visa is a nonimmigrant visa category suitable for athletes and their essential support personnel who wish to go to the U.S. to perform temporarily at a particular athletic competition, either by themselves or as part of a team, at an internationally recognized level of performance. Coaches, trainers, and other support staff who are essential to the athlete's performance can also accompany the athlete in P-1S classification.
In addition to meeting these requirements, athletes must also have a valid contract with a U.S.-based employer or team, outlining the terms of their participation in the specific event or competition.
